Week 2 – Creating Strong Passwords 🦾Passwords Made Simple

Did You Know…

  • Nearly half (46%) of people had a password stolen in 2024. (Forbes Advisor)
  • According to more than a third (35%) of people who were hacked, weak passwords were to blame. (Forbes Advisor)
  • It’s estimated that more than 24 billion credentials are exposed each year in data breaches. (Security Magazine)

We Know Remembering Passwords is a Daunting Task.  What are your Options?
We recommend utilizing a Password Manager (PM).  Password managers are apps that generate new, random passwords for all the sites you visit. They store these credentials for you in a secure virtual vault. Then, when you visit a site or open an app where you need to log in, the password manager automatically fills in your login name and password.

There are a number of good PMs on the market –  KeeperLastPass and BitWarden.  Our favorite is Keeper,  Keeper allows you to sync passwords across the following platforms: Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, and Windows, or download an extension for Brave, Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Opera, and Safari.  Pricing starts at around $40/year.

Want to keep remembering passwords?  Make sure you choose something complex (minimum 12 characters, combination of characters/numbers)  and do not reuse for every application!  Need a good Password Generator?  Use this free Random Password Generator.
